St. Petersburg, FL. All conference speakers have been specially selected
by Bersin & Associates based on their experience, accomplishments,
and thought leadership.
This two-day research conference,
which includes 21 sessions and more than 60 executive speakers,
will examine all aspects of enterprise learning and talent management.
The agenda features in-depth case studies from corporate innovators such
as Deb Kelly, head of learning services for Aetna, and Lou
Tedrick, staff vice president of workforce development for Verizon
Wireless.
Thought-provoking panels
– featuring executives such as Kathy Thomas, vice president of learning
and development for Northrop Grumman and Jerry Williams, vice
president of talent management for Waste Management – will address
issues, trends, and best practices.
The conference is also
the place to go to evaluate and compare offerings from a wide range of
solution providers. In addition to the conference's Demo Center,
the program also includes panels of senior executives – from Paul Sparta,
CEO of Plateau to Adam Miller, CEO of Cornerstone OnDemand
to Bobby Yazdani, CEO of Saba – who will discuss the markets for
learning, talent management, leadership development, and outsourcing and
what's ahead for the future.
Bersin & Associates
research provides the program's foundation. Our analysts carefully chose
all conference speakers based on their proven performance in our
industry. Our analysts will present the latest findings in areas such as
learning on-demand, integrated talent strategies, collaborative corporate
learning, and talent management systems. In addition, analysts will
moderate panel discussions and oversee all presentations.

Conference Bonuses Include Benchmarking Workshops,
Solution Guides, and Networking Opportunities
|
|

|
|

In addition to a unique,
high-value program, IMPACT 2008
offers attendees several valuable bonuses.
Prior to the conference,
each attendee will have the opportunity to take one of three unique
organizational assessments: the Learning Organization Scorecard, the
Leadership Development Scorecard, or the Talent Management Scorecard.
During mini-workshops conducted at the conference, each attendee will get
a printed report, based on assessment results, and learn how to interpret
results. These valuable and objective assessments highlight areas of
strength and potential improvement and can help set planning priorities.
We've written much about
the importance of use scenarios in the software and services evaluation
process. Now, you have a chance to try them out for yourself. All
attendees will receive the WhatWorks Solutions Guide, a
compilation of practical use scenarios for LMSs, talent management
suites, content, outsourcing, and tools – all developed by our analysts.
Attendees can use these guides to focus conversations with vendors
participating in the conference's Demo Center.
Additionally, the
conference program is specially designed to leverage the power of the
Bersin & Associates' research community. Attendees will have many
opportunities to meet and talk with professionals and executives facing challenges
similar to yours. Analysts will be available for consultation throughout
the event.

The Business of Talent
By Josh Bersin
Last week, I had the opportunity to speak with several of
our research members about their challenges in building alignment with
senior business leaders, including the often-difficult job of helping
business executives understand their role in the development and
implementation of talent and learning strategies.
This call strengthened my conviction that we need to do a
much better job of helping top business leaders understand the
correlation between learning and talent initiatives and the bottom line.
And more specifically, we must give these executives very clear direction
on their role in leading and supporting these programs.
Our upcoming conference, IMPACT
2008: The Business of Talent™, is designed to help meet this mission.
When you visit the conference web site, you'll note that we have an
amazing roster of speakers – learning and HR leaders who have achieved impressive
business results through innovative programs and highly effective
organizations.
In the upcoming months, you'll be hearing many more details
on IMPACT 2008, as well as new research and other offerings to tighten
even further our alignment with business and help educate business
leaders about their roles and potential contributions. No matter what
direction the economy takes in months ahead, how companies approach
learning and talent management will affect their ability to compete,
generate revenue, and retain customers.
And special thanks to these research members for
participating in the recent focus group: Mary Sutcliffe, Marsh Learning;
Jay Allen, Dept. of Homeland Security; Dave DeFilippo, BNY Mellon Asset
Management; Mike Ayulo, WellPoint; Beth Kavelaris, Robert W. Baird &
Co.; Deanne George, Accenture; and Brent deMoville, Allergan.
What challenges do you face in building alignment with top
business leaders? Please
email us with your thoughts on this topic.
