Flexible Solutions for Multi-Cultural Learners: HP Case Study

HP has found that when it comes to training a global, multi-cultural audience, one size does not fit all. HP's learners are located in all regions of the world and require a blended learning approach to accommodate their individual styles and preferences. The course design must be flexible enough to accommodate multiple audiences, allowing regional trainers to decide on the best delivery approach for their learners.

This case study describes how HP used Media 1's design expertise to create modular learning programs with multiple modalities. The innovative and flexible course design has reduced the redundancy in training by combining like products into one, for an estimated savings of $1,800 per learner. On-going cost savings are even greater, estimated at one-quarter the total cost required to update the previous individual courses. And instructors love the ability to choose the appropriate method for their audiences, allowing them to adapt the training to different learning styles and get the most effective use of the training.

    New Research: Enterprise LMS Strategy

This detailed study reviews 300+ companies' strategies for enterprise vs. divisional LMS implementations, including in-depth case studies of 12 enterprise customers who are in the process of implementing enterprise-wide LMS systems. It also details Oracle, Peoplesoft, and SAP's LMS strategies and compares them to each other.

The study will address the following questions:

    • When does an enterprise implementation make sense?
    • How do you cost-justify an enterprise implementation?
    • How do you know if you are ready for an enterprise-wide LMS?
    • What are the strategies of the major ERP vendors: Peoplesoft, Oracle, and SAP? How do they differ?

Excellence and Best Practices in Training Governance and Management

We are embarking on an important study to understand excellence and best practices in training governance and management. The study will explore issues such as: How should learning and development teams be organized? What are the best ways to manage technology and e-learning development? How do best-of-breed organizations roll out learning programs and measure results?

This first of its kind study will demonstrate best practices in organization and executive governance of training. We are seeking study participants as well as study sponsors.

We urge all training organizations who want to identify best practices to join us as a sponsor. Sponsors will have the opportunity to make sure their questions, needs, and their own best practices identified.
