According to our latest research, customers are demanding more Web2.0 capabilities and social networking integration from their talent acquisition providers. Social networking has become one of the hottest topics in talent acquisition over the past year. Not surprising given the many advantages it offers in sourcing, employer branding and establishing relationships with candidates. While most solution providers avoided this topic in the past, companies such as Peopleclick recognize a strong demand from their customers to provide more support for features that enable connectivity and interactivity. According to our research, 41% of companies indicated that Web 2.0 capabilities is a “must-have” when considering advanced features they would like included in their talent acquisition systems.
In June 2009, Peopleclick announced Peopleclick Reach, a combination of services and products to help organizations leverage Web 2.0 technology to expand their referral network, reach passive candidates and extend their employer brand. Peopleclick Reach is integrated into social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Peopleclick Reach differentiates itself from social networking integration by providing services and strong business intelligence capabilities that can help organizations measure the effectiveness of social media including website traffic analysis, search engine optimization, and survey data.
In August, Peopleclick released the complimentary eBook, Social Networks and Employment Law, to further assist organizations when implementing a social media strategy. Some of the highlights include:
• Laws enforced by both the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs
• How to avoid disparate treatment and disparate impact
• Recordkeeping requirements if you are a federal contractor
• Recommendations for safely using these sources throughout the hiring process
If the past year has taught us one lesson, it is that social media is here to stay. Best practice organizations looking to leverage social media into their recruitment strategies now have more options and more resources available. Bersin & Associates’ upcoming Talent Acquisition Systems Industry Study (released this month) will highlight these findings.
